MOOSE SPLIT DOUBLEHEADER WITH THE SEAWOLVES
The weather wasn't the only thing cold for the Moose in Game 1, but Moose light a fire in Game 2 and score 14 on the Seawolves.

With a (Game One) start time temperature of 40°, the weather wasn't the only thing the Moose found cold to start the doubleheader vs the SMCC Seawolves only placing 7 in the hits column.
The Moose were able to strike first in the second inning after Norra Idano grounded out, scoring one run. UMA extended the lead with 2 more runs in the top of the third with RBI singles by Audrey Nile and Addison McCormick. SMCC then tied the game in the bottom of the third scoring 3 runs. Unfortunately the Moose bats went cold and were only able to generate 1 additional run falling short with a final score 9-4.
The Moose bats caught fire in (Game Two) and put 17 hits up against the Seawolves bringing 14 runs across the plate.
Madilyn Cote went an outstanding 5-for-5 leading the Moose to with a perfect game at the plate.
UMA struck first in the second when Aubrey Peer walked and Shannah Parsons followed with a sacrifice fly to make it 1-0. Southern Maine answered in the bottom half as Ella Voth doubled and Hayley Cowan added a run-scoring single to tie it.
The Moose broke the game open in the top of the third, plating five runs on four hits to take a 7-2 lead. Arabel Linkletter's two-run single was the big blow of the inning. UMA continued to tack on runs throughout the game, finishing with 17 hits and four stolen bases; Cote and Linkletter each swiped multiple bags. Norra Idano and Audrey Nile also had multi-hit efforts, and Aubrey Peer drew two walks as UMA worked five free passes total.
Southern Maine mounted a late threat, including a sixth-inning solo homer by Sloan Scotvold, but couldn't overcome UMA's offense.
On the mound, Shannah Parsons earned the win, going seven innings and allowing 12 hits and seven runs (four earned) with one strikeout and no walks. Ava Dionne took the loss for Southern Maine after 4.1 innings, giving up seven runs (four earned) on 11 hits. Ella Voth started for Southern Maine and worked 2.2 innings, surrendering seven runs on six hits.
Final: UMA Moose 14, Southern Maine Community College 7.
