GAME ONE
Powerful Pitching Performance From McCormick Carries UMA Moose Past UMPI
Addison McCormick struck out 10 batters as the hurler led UMA Moose past UMPI 6-4 on Sunday. Addison McCormick surrendered eight hits and four runs over seven innings while walking two.
UMPI were the first to get on the board in the first when #11 singled, scoring one run.
Annabelle Morris doubled to left field, which helped UMA Moose tie the game at one in the top of the third.
UMPI took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. #7 doubled, scoring one run, to give UMPI the leg up, 2-1.
UMA Moose jumped into the lead in the top of the fifth when Arabel Linkletter singled, scoring one run, and Shannah Parsons doubled, scoring two runs.
#16 took the loss for UMPI. The starting pitcher went seven innings, giving up six runs on 15 hits, striking out seven and walking two.
UMA Moose tallied 15 hits in the game. Shannah Parsons provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led UMA Moose with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Kenzie Kutniewski went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead UMA Moose in hits. Kassidy Barrett, Arabel Linkletter, and Audrey Nile each collected multiple hits for UMA Moose.
#11 provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led UMPI with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. #24 led UMPI with three hits in four at bats. UMPI didn't commit a single error in the field. #4 had the most chances in the field with nine.
GAME TWO
UMA Moose Surge Past UMPI Thanks To Big Sixth Inning
UMA Moose scored eight runs in the sixth inning, which helped them defeat UMPI 12-1 on Sunday. Sam Withee drew a walk, scoring one run, Kassidy Barrett singled, scoring one run, Aubrey Peer singled, scoring two runs, Annabelle Morris doubled, scoring two runs, Kenzie Kutniewski singled, scoring one run, and Shannah Parsons singled, scoring one run.
UMA Moose were the first to get on the board in the first when Arabel Linkletter grounded out, scoring one run.
UMPI scored one run in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to center field by #24.
Shannah Parsons earned the win for UMA Moose. The starter allowed three hits and one run over six innings, striking out five and walking none. #13 took the loss for UMPI. The hurler went six innings, allowing 12 runs (three earned) on nine hits, striking out three and walking 10.
Aubrey Peer, the number nine hitter for UMA Moose, led the way with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-4 on the day. Kassidy Barrett and Aubrey Peer were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for UMA Moose. UMA Moose had a strong eye at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game. Addison McCormick, Sam Withee, Shannah Parsons, and Annabelle Morris led the team with two bases on balls each. Annabelle Morris stole two bases. UMA Moose ran wild on the base paths, accumulating three stolen bases for the game.
#24 led UMPI with one run batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-3 on the day.
