Women Finish 5th At Thomas College Invitational

WATERVILLE, Maine – The University of Maine at Augusta outdoor track & field teams traveled to Waterville for the Thomas College Outdoor Invitational that drew competition from 9 colleges from across the state including 4 in the UMaine System.

On the women's side Emily Billings finished 2^nd in the 400m in a time of 1:08.82 followed by Jenna Petrovic in 1:13.05 good enough for 8^th overall. UMA's women 4x100m finished 2^nd in 58.89 followed by Unity College. Abby Haskell scored for the Moose in the long jump (5^th) and the triple jump (3^rd). Kate Stevens and Charlene Beringer took 6^th and 7^th in the hammer.

On the men's side Sam Gerken ran a PR in the 100m (11.90) and finished 3^rd in the 400m with a PR of 53.56. Samuel Scott threw a new personal best in the javelin (43.93m) good enough for 3^rd overall. Nate Martin finished 4^th in the triple jump and 6^th in the long jump.

Both teams improved over last week with the men finishing 8^th Maine Maritime and the women 6^th ahead of Maine-Fort Kent, Maine-Presque Isle, and Maine Maritime.

Women's Meet Highlights
