MOOSE CORRAL MUSTANGS IN A YSCC SHOWDOWN

In a highly anticipated YSCC Showdown, the UMaine Augusta Moose defeated Central Maine Community College 75-73, blemishing Central Maine Community College's perfect season as they hand them their first loss. 

Quarter Breakdown:

1st Quarter:
Central Maine CC started strong, leading 21-16. Breanna Dwyer scored the first points for the Mustangs with a layup assisted by Ava Smith. Yvonne Roberge provided the first points for UMaine Augusta with a jump shot. The Moose were proving they came to play, but Central Maine was able to maintain their lead after 1 quarter. 

2nd Quarter:
UMaine Augusta turned the tide, outscoring Central Maine CC 22-16. Emilee Brown hit a crucial three-pointer to bring the score to 19-21. As the quarter progressed, Roberge and Petrocci made key plays to close the gap, with Roberge hitting a three-pointer at the end of the half, bringing the score to 38-37.

3rd Quarter:
The third quarter saw both teams trading baskets, with Central Maine CC briefly extending their lead to 42-38 after a three-pointer from Hunter Hartsgrove. However, UMaine Augusta responded with a strong performance from Sage Fortin, who hit a three-pointer to regain the lead 41-42. The quarter ended with a score of 55-52 in favor of UMaine Augusta.

4th Quarter:
In the final quarter, UMaine Augusta maintained their lead, with Fortin hitting another three-pointer early on to push the lead to 58-54. Central Maine CC made a late push, with Ava Smith scoring and converting free throws to narrow the gap to 75-73. However, UMaine Augusta held on for the victory.
