GAME ONE
The UMA Moose exploded offensively in a 23–14 win over Penn State Beaver in game one of Saturday's doubleheader.
UMA wasted no time getting on the board, plating six runs in the first inning behind timely hits from Sam Withee and Madilyn Cote, along with aggressive baserunning and capitalizing on Beaver miscues. The Moose continued to pour it on, adding six more runs in both the third and fifth innings to build a commanding lead.
Addison McCormick had a standout performance, going 3-for-5 with a solo home run in the sixth inning. Sam Withee led the offense with a 5-for-6 day at the plate and four RBIs. Madilyn Cote added a triple and multiple RBIs, while several Moose hitters recorded multi-hit games as part of an 18-hit team effort.
UMA also showed discipline at the plate, drawing nine walks and stealing six bases to keep the pressure on throughout the game.
GAME TWO
Game two came down to the wire, as UMA fell just short in a heartbreaking 7–6 loss to Penn State Beaver.
Trailing late, the Moose rallied to take a 6–5 lead in the top of the sixth inning. Natalie Gilman delivered a clutch performance, going 4-for-5 with two doubles and multiple RBIs, while Audrey Nile and Shannah Parsons each contributed key runs during the rally.
Penn State Beaver answered in dramatic fashion in the bottom of the seventh, scoring two runs on the final play to walk it off.
Sam Withee and Shannah Parsons each added multiple hits, while Addison McCormick reached base consistently with three walks. The Moose continued their aggressive approach on the basepaths, tallying three stolen bases and turning a key double play on defense.
