UMA Moose Baseball and Softball Teams Make History with Inaugural Doubleheader Against CMCC Mustangs
Auburn, ME – Today, Friday, September 13, marks a historic day for the University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) as both the Moose Baseball and Softball teams prepare to take the field for their inaugural games. In a highly anticipated doubleheader event, the teams will face off against the Central Maine Community College (CMCC) Mustangs, with first pitches scheduled for 5 PM and 7 PM at CMCC's home field.
This groundbreaking occasion represents a significant milestone for UMA athletics, as both teams embark on their journeys in YSCC Conference. The excitement surrounding this doubleheader is palpable, with players and coaches eager to showcase their hard work and dedication in front of family, friends, and supporters.
“We are thrilled to be making history today,” said UMA Baseball head coach Jacob Bessey. “This is a moment we’ve all been waiting for, and I couldn’t be prouder of the players. They have put in countless hours of practice, and now it’s time to show what they can do on the field.”
Similarly, the Softball team is equally enthusiastic about their first game. “Today is an incredible opportunity for us,” said UMA Softball head coach Heath Cowan. “We have worked so hard to get to this point, and we’re ready to compete. It’s exciting to be part of something new and to represent UMA.”
