Moose sign Kervin
AUGUSTA, ME—The University of Maine at Augusta men’s basketball program is pleased to announce the commitment of Justin Kervin from Winslow High School. Kervin is a 5’11 guard with strong leadership skills on and off the court.
Kervin was selected to be a part of Winslow High School’s National Honor Society this past year. In addition to this high honor, he was also a success on the court. Kervin helped his Winslow team to a 16-4 record as well as a trip to the quarter final game. He is excited to begin his college career here at UMA.
“I chose UMA because it is very close to home and affordable,” says Kervin on his decision to commit to UMA. “I'm very excited to enter the Medical Lab Technology program here at UMA. I'm glad I'm getting a chance to play college basketball.”
“Justin was a standout defensive minded guard for Coach Jared Brown’s Winslow Black Raiders,” boasts Head Coach Jim Ford. “Justin will provide the Moose with a scoring punch when needed and high intensity play at both ends of the floor.”
Kervin has proven to be a team player. He has filled many roles that his team has needed. When the team needed scoring, he would score. He is also an extremely strong defensive player who will help the Moose this year. “I think I play great help side defense and I love to take a charge, that always got my team fired up when I did,” says Kervin about what he feels like he will add to the team this year.
The Moose are gearing up for preseason, starting on October 1st, 2014. Go Moose!!
