Chesley Reaches Career High
Keith Chesley (Clinton, ME) of the men's basketball team recorded a career high of 41 points last night against Northern Maine Community College. Keith now holds the 8th spot in the record books for most points scored in a game for UMA. He passed his father’s record, Greg Chesley (36 points), and other standout players from 1970-1990. This list includes Arlan St. Surin (39 pts), Dean Graham (39 pts), John Shoppe (40 pts), and Charles Martz (40 pts). William Kenneth of the 1976-77 team still holds the lead with 65 points in a single game.
Prior to last night’s game, Chesley was averaging 28.5 points over the past four games and averaging 27 points on the season. He is currently ranked third in points per game in the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC). He is currently leading the YSCC in rebounds per game at 13.3. In last night’s game Chesley was 5-8 from beyond the arc and shot a perfect 8-8 from the charity stripe. He was 14-25 overall and pulled down an incredible 24 rebounds.
