UMA Cross Country opens season at Vermont Tech

RANDOLPH, Vermont – The UMA cross country teams traveled to Vermont Tech over the weekend to compete in the Knights Invitational.
Women’s XC kicked off the day running first in the 5K. The course was a mix of gravel, apple orchard, and grassy fields, and rolling hills around campus. Senior Carmen Bragg notched a 25:16 followed closely by sophomore Shauna Riordan in 25:44. Caitlin LaFountain rounded out the women’s side in 30:05.
On the men’s side sophomore Sam Gerken led the Moose in the 8K event finishing strong in 32:08. The Moose finished closely behind Vermont Tech with a team score of 104 to 92 on the men’s side.
The Moose will head to Brunswick next Saturday (16th) for the Bowdoin Invitational.
