4th annual UMA Golf tournament enjoys record turnout
VASSALBORO, Maine – The University of
Maine at Augusta enjoyed a record turnout for Monday’s fourth
annual UMA golf tournament with proceeds benefitting the UMA Moose
co-ed golf team, led by head coach Tristan Starbird.
Woodlands Assisted Living was the title sponsor for the event, with 15 teams participating in the 18 hole scramble, which was held at Natanis Golf Course. Charlie’s Family of Dealerships provided the Hole in One Prize, a 2012 KIA Sorento that one participant came within a few feet of winning.
The top two foursomes tied with a gross score of 64 on the afternoon. One team played for Charlie’s Motor Mall, and consisted of Mike Roddy, Cam Ray, Jacob Roddy, and Brian Stevens. The other top team represented the Maine National Guard, with Mike Mowry, Brian Dill, Carl Sticht, and Doug Chabot playing the course for the Guard.
Prizes included rounds of golf at 11 different Maine golf courses, as well as a golf bag, Bridgestone B330 golf balls, as well as gift certificates from Dick’s Sporting Goods and the Chinah-Dinah.
The 2013 UMA Golf Invitational will take place at Natanis Golf Course on May 20.
